L’ete du Vin
To support the fight against cancer, Vanessa and I traveled with the family to Nashville to support the L’ete du Vin wine auction. I was chosen as the featured artist for the event to create an original work of art to be sold at the Grand Auction at the end of the weekend.I was in good company with the four guest vintners: Chateau Palmer, Hugel & Fils, Pol Roger, and Louis Jadot.
To kick off the evening, Jacques Lardiere of Maison Louis Jadot and I enjoyed a glass of their famed Bonnes Mares. All of the wines at the auction were fantastic, but a few of my favorites were the Alter Ego by Chateau Palmer, the Louis Jadot”Clos de la Chapelle” Duc de Magenta Chassagne Maontrachet 1998, and the Hugel “Selection de Grain Nobles” Gewurtraminer 1988.After all of the events, Vanessa and I stopped by to see our friends Monty and Anna to check out the studio and play a little music.

At Home in the Studio
It’s been nice to be home and enjoy the summer for the last month. I have been working hard in the studio to create some new work . . . so much wine, so little time! The warm weather gives me a great excuse to sample some of the whites in the cellar . . . Vanessa and I have been pouring the ZD Chardonnay, the Rombauer Chardonnay, and several types of Viogniers that we have picked up in the local wine shops. Here’s to staying cool!
