High Museum Wine Auction & Gala
Every year, Vanessa and I participate in one of the most anticipated benefits of the year, the High Museum Wine Auction & Gala here in Atlanta. We always enjoy coming together with our friends to support the arts in our community and it’s especially nice to spend time with all of my favorite vintners – see you soon in Napa!

A Royal Artist Dinner
Vanessa and I hosted the Artist Dinner to benefit the High Museum of Art this year and what a magnificent night! Not only did we succeed in raising money to support the many art programs that the High Museum provides, but we had a great evening sharing some of my favorite wines with old and new friends. Rock violinist Aaron Meyer treated us to an amazing private performance and Chef Shane Touhy created a stunning five course feast that could only be fit for a king. We enjoyed wine from Silver Oak Cellars, ZD Wines, Anderson Conn Valley and Dolce to name a few . . .

Hometown Tribute
It was great to be back in my hometown of Detroit to see old friends and share great wine from Fisher Vineyards. Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse opened their newest restaurant in Livonia and to celebrate, I created an original crate collage featuring Fisher’s excellent cabernet. We all came together to host a benefit for Juvenile Diabetes and the evening was a huge success – thank you to all who helped make the night a hit!

A Night on the Town
I look forward to this time of the year because I get to show my appreciation for my biggest supporters . . . the galleries! Each March, New York is the host of Art Expo and I get to be the host of an evening on the town with our family of Arvid galleries. This year, we wined and dined at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse in Edgewater, NJ as I unveiled my new work. The staff was amazing and I enjoyed spending time with old friends.
Gina and David Papazian of Dzian Gallery are among the newest additions to the Arvid program – welcome and I look forward to a great year!

Fine Wine and Good Friends

After traveling across the country for the past month, I have a few moments to sit back and tell you about my journey. The Silver Oak Release in Napa was great. Thank you to all who came out! I started a new piece at the event, as you can see on the right, so keep your eyes peeled for a new release in the summer.
After a week or two of working away in the studio, I attended the Atlanta Fine Wine Festival . . . what a great event for any wine enthusiast like myself! I enjoyed meeting new people and helping out Hospice Atlanta in the charity auction. There were so many wines and so many wonderful people there. February 1st, 2007
Naples
I had a blast in Naples, Florida last week! I was there for a gallery appearance for New River Fine Art. Everyone was wonderful and it is always a joy to meet such great people! Thanks to everyone who made it out!
After Naples, it was off to Half Moon Bay (near San Fransisco) for another gallery appearance and then to Napa. I’m working on a piece for the Silver Oak release day in Napa and it’s coming along beautifully! I can’t wait for you all to see it. I will let you all know how all the events in California went in my next post, so stay tuned! Cheers!

Ringing in the New Year!

It’s so nice to be home and working hard in the studio. 2007 has been very productive so far: I’m working on a new release and gearing up to hit the road again after a two month break. I’ll be heading out to Naples, Florida next week and then it’s off to California for two weeks. I’ll be going to several galleries and visiting my friends at Silver Oak on the next release day in February. Check out my event schedule and come and see me if you are in the area.
On a side note, I just want you all to know that I am still learning new technology and figuring out how to use the blog to keep everyone up to date. I would much rather be in the studio painting! I do appreciate all of the emails and I am always happy to hear from old and new friends.
I finally finished our wine cellar after two and a half years! It’s been a huge project for me and now that it’s complete I couldn’t be happier. It’s a nice place to open a bottle and have a glass with friends and family. There is, however, still a lot of space to fill, which Vanessa and I will enjoy doing! I guess it takes as long to build a wine cellar as it does to get an Arvid original . . .
This is going to be an exciting year for me. I’m getting the gears turning with some new projects and working on some great releases. I’m experimenting with painting new surfaces, such as wine crates and crate lid collages, and traveling all over the country this year to share them. I’m looking forward to meeting new friends and sharing great wine. So grab a glass and join me in toasting the New Year . . . cheers!
