From the Artist’s Brush

It’s been a busy few weeks for me!

I have enjoyed concentrating on a few new pieces that I have been working on for a while. This is one of the more complex works in progress and one that has given me an opportunity to continue to refine my skills. I enjoy working with new ideas, colors, techniques and I especially enjoy the end of the day . . . it’s always happy hour somewhere. Cheers!

Home on the Range

Thanks to Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar for naming me Purveyor of the Year! I am honored to receive the award and I had a great time at the OSI conference in Nashville. I spent the weekend hanging out with Fleming’s people from all over the country and really enjoyed getting to know them.

Fleming’s Executive Chef Rusell Skall & I got all “cowboyed up” for the Tim McGraw concert.

Resting up for my big performance next to my friend Marian Jansen op de Haar, Fleming’s Director of Wine.


Rob and I brought a touch of the islands to Music City for the “dress like a rockstar” event.

Glass Half Full

After a day in the studio, I can’t wait to head down to the cellar to find something new and exciting to try. This week, I opened a bottle of 2004 The Tempest by Realm Cellars and it really impressed me – it’s an intense red and one that would be great to share with friends.

Cheers to Juan Mercado – I’ll be looking forward to his next vintage . . .
