St. Augustine, FL
St. Augustine is one of my favorite places to travel for a show. Vanessa & I pack the kids up for a great weekend and head down to Florida to enjoy some warm weather before the holidays.
I love that I can travel and work from anywhere – even the car! Jimmy and I share the back seat so I can stretch out and paint on the drive down.

Whenever we travel, Vanessa and I try to choose places that are a little outside the box . . . somewhere that will be great for entertaining, comfortable for the kids and more fun than a hotel.
For St. Augustine, staying on the boat was the perfect option – we enjoyed the laid back atmosphere of marina life and the kids had a blast exploring the boat.
Galeria del Mar hosted an amazing show, as always. Dinner was excellent and I enjoyed seeing my old friends and spending time with the Cutter family. My work looked great in the gallery and with special pours of Quintessa, Cakebread and Silver Oak, everyone was happy!
Maggie, Vanessa, Cathy & Merry had a great time getting dressed up for an evening of great art, wine & food.
What I really like about staying in the marina is the entertaining: after the gallery show, we invited some of our friends over to the boat to hang out and play some great music.
Mike and Ryan helped me entertain the crowd while Len and Rob surprised us all with a great rendition of “A Boy Named Sue”.
Until next time . . . cheers!

Vinings Gallery in Atlanta
I spend a lot of my year traveling so I look forward to the Vinings Gallery show here in Atlanta – it’s a treat to only have to travel down the road! I had a great time catching up with my local collectors and friends in my home town.
The Friday VIP collectors night is one of the best wine events of the year in Atlanta and most people don’t even know about it. Everyone brings a big bottle to share so you have all of these great wines – Hartwell, Diamond Creek, Caymus, Sineann – to taste and talk about. Gary opened a 6L of an older Silver Oak vintage that really got us going! It was a fun night and I’m already looking forward to next year.

Quick trip to Napa
Rob and I headed out to Napa for a quick visit to do some photo shoots and plan some projects for next year. It’s always nice to catch up with my friends in Napa – even if it is just for a couple of days! Here I am arranging one of my next compositions . . .
Thanks to my friend Daniel for stopping by Revana Family Vineyards to see me. Aside from being a great chef and the hospitality director at Vineyard 29, Daniel is also a budding artist so it was great to sit back, paint and share some of my insights on being a working artist with him.
Until next time, I’ve got some great photos and good wine to share with my friends when I get home.

Wolfgangs in Highland, NC
There is no better place to spend a beautiful autumn weekend than in Highlands, NC! Vanessa Rob, and I joined Silver Oak Cellars at Wolfgangs Restaurant & Wine Bistro for a night of art, wine & great food.
I had a great time sketching for the crowd inbetween courses and meeting new collectors. The Iron Horse and Silver Oak pairings were the perfect match for Chef Wolfgang’s specialties.
Chef Wolfgang blew me away with nine amazing courses – it was over-the-top and an exciting culinary tour of Chef’s mastery.
Thank you to Mindy, Wolfgang and all of their staff for the thoughtful hospitality. The whole family enjoyed the visit and I look forward to our next trip to the Highlands!

Greenville in the Fall
Last weekend, the family and I traveled to Greenville, SC for my show at The West End Gallery in Greenville, SC. We had a great time walking around town and enjoying the hospitality!
Thank you to everyone at The West End Gallery for an amazing show! It was great to see all of my old friends and collectors again. I really enjoyed spending time with everyone at Rick Erwin’s
West End Grille and can’t wait to stop in again for some great wine.
I’m always up for exploring new mediums and this pumpkin was ripe for the taking!

My new friend and collector Thomas Bozzuto stopped by the Cabin to share a glass of wine and an afternoon snack with me. He drove all the way up from Albany to visit – thanks for going the extra mile!

Wine South Atlanta
Thank you to all of my fellow Atlantans who came out to see me at Wine South this weekend. I enjoyed seeing old acquaintances and meeting new friends at the Grand Hyatt and World Congress Center.
I got to share the stage with up and coming artist Penelope Moore. Thanks for the oil, Penelope, and I look forward to seeing more of your work! If you want to check out her art, take a look at www.moorepenelope.com.
I wish I could have been in two places at once this weekend: I’m sorry to miss Art Expo Las Vegas but I sent a magnum of 2001 Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon with Rob to toast with my friends. Thanks to my good friend John Nassar for hosting everyone at Bobby Flay’s Mesa Grill – I’m sorry to miss seing you Jia and Michael. Here’s to next year!
